Performance Brain Nutrition

Brain nutrition is often ignored when performance nutrition is discussed and even elite athletes ignore the basics of eating for the brain alongside eating for the body

The brain nutrition plan concentrates on the 4 areas (boxes to tick) shown to increase all markers of brain health and removing the barriers that hinder us from reaching our potential mentally

Eating for the brain doesn't exactly make us smarter but just enables us to reach our own brain potential by removing barriers and switches us from a diet that hinders the brain to one that is focused purely on it and ways to reach our brains potential by removing barriers and also may improve or lower the risk of mental health issues and elderly cognitive decline

In sports the brain is often the primary tool used for sharp decision-making, quick reactions, rapid memory recall and good composure of thought and if these factors are sluggish then performance will suffer yet it is still mostly overlooked in favour of feeding the body for explosive performance often at the expense of the mental side when maximising both should be the goal

In business getting the brain sharp is just as crucial for many of the same reasons it is for an elite athlete and people spend fortunes on nootropic pills and supplements to achieve this which is fine but I would argue better and more consistent results can be achieved with eating specifically with the brain in mind.

Brain nutrition is easily achievable on all types of diets (meat or vegan) and fine for those athletes who like high carbs but the source of the carbs may need to change to remove any triggers that may hinder the brain and often the main sources of carbs that athletes rely on are bad triggers for poor brain health due to a number of different factors with pasta being a good example.

The benefits that improve brain performance also have been show may improve mental health and avoid future conditions and elderly cognitive decline

Eating for the brain is not a fad diet but a way we should all eat and it doesnt concentrate so much on specific foods but the things we get from them and looks at what foods give us these things which are proven to help the brain such as the highest food  sources and best supplementation options for omega 3.

The brain nutrition plan also includes using ingredients and herbs shown to improve cognitive health by ticking boxes such as lowering inflammation, improving gut health and interacting with the brain in ways that can achieve positive mental outcomes with various mushroom types being one example of foods that have been shown can be beneficial
